My motivation boost from yesterday keeps going - and hopefully it will continue like that for several days. Today I did Zumba and after one hour session I was like 'what! is that it?' so I'm feeling happy, joyful and fit :) what else can I ask at this moment?

One colleague from the office saw me last week and told me that I'm losing weight, which was nice and we talked about it and so. She saw me again today and said: "You are shrinking!" and I don't know if that has a positive or negative meaning... to me, shrinking means getting smaller - not thinner, and I don't think I'm getting smaller (I hope!).

This makes me reconsider my exercise routine. I'm trying to do between 3 and 5 cardio sessions a week. This week I also started with dumbbells (not sure if that's the name in english?)but their weight is very light, they are only 0.5 kg each.

Of course, my principal focus is to lose weight, meaning being smaller size in jeans and shirts and so; I want to lose fat as well mainly from the legs, hips and belly, but I definitely don't want to become smaller, I'm already short enough, which is why I decided to use dumbbells and I will soon (hopefully next week) incorporate abs or squats.

If anyone has some exercise advice to lose weight but not become 'small', I would really appreciate it.

I think she meant that as a compliment :-) Keep doing what youre doing, youve got it right. Cardio burns the calories and fat but the weights are going to tone your muscles, and toned is a great look :-) Youre doing great

I'm sure she meant shrinking as in weight it's just what some people say! Good job on becomin so noticeably thinner!

Way to go! Shrinking means noticeable lessening to me. So that's a great thing when loosing weight is your goal. Keep it up!

As vain as it sounds, we all love to hear "you've lost weight" (even if we know it's not true) because it's an ego booster and make us feel like we're getting some where.

Thanks all! reading you makes me think that perhaps she meant it as a compliment then, LOL... sorry, english is not my native language :) I still believe that 'thinner' sounds nicer but ok, won't complain about being shrinking then! HAve a nice day, all!
