I don't normally record more than one journal entry for a day but wanted to blog my near binge moment. I think I binge eat a lot of the times for relaxation. There is a big dopamine boost and I can feel the stress just leave my body when I binge eat carbs. One of my favorite things to do is eat cereal out of the box. So I was having an episode this morning where I had stress and didn't know what to do with it.
So I took out the pb, got the spoon, looked at the carbs, put it back. Got the goldfish, looked at the carbs, put it back. Got the cereal, looked at the carbs, put it back.
Went into the living room with hands clenched thinking how am I going to get through this. I took some deep breaths. I put on a show on Netflix (well, yeah I'm working from home so I can kind of get away with this for a few minutes).
And eventually it passed. I know it's supposed to pass and I need to wait it out using Urge Surfing and mindfulness techniques. It seems so hard to do when you are in the middle of it.
So I am doing well and I will keep on the path of no binge eating! Thanks for listening!

Good job. I also get cravings and want to binge. Mine happen right after dinner. I make myself wait 20 min b4 I give in and 90% off time craving goes away 💜

I look at my calories as money and the total daily calories alloted as my bank account. I do the same thing you did, but look at calories. There's a lot of foods I don't wanna spend the calories on. It helps.

that is awesome!!! I've been craving pasta lately but luckily I didn't cave in and I just ended up falling asleep last night while watching TV. When I woke up the urge passed and I was glad I didn't give in. Keep up the great work! :)
