It would be very hard. I applaud your persistence. Are you on maintenance now? How are you managing? You are a real inspiration. ❤

Thanks so much Jackie! I’m not to maintenance quite yet...still want to lose a little more. I want to stay comfortably below 130 even if I give in a day here and there like yesterday 🙂

Well done for avoiding the leftovers... I just find I don’t enjoy junk food anymore.. once I start eating it, I can taste all the chemicals and get a headache like you.. amazing how our tastes change..
Glad you had a great time with your family 🤗

I SO agree! LOL I bought some atkins bars because I knew I was having the surgery and I needed quick snack food I could grab and eat that wasn’t the kid’s crap. I was happy I did! But even then, my mouth was very happy and felt like I was cheating SO bad! I still got up and made a meal or two a day. I just didn’t want to have to when I felt awful. The last time I had surgery I gained 20 lbs. ended up eating cereal and toast because it was easy and easy on the stomach. Uck!

Thanks guys! It’s nice to known I’m not the only one who gives in once in a while. It’s a new week and I will get back on track 😁

GM🌻 I totally agree I live in a household of men my husband and 2 sons they eat all day and at any time and they are as fit as models. Me on the other hand just sniff the snacks and I gain 10 lbs LOL 😂 but When I try to eat something I have given up from the snack group I get sick to my stomach. So when I know they gonna snack I have small bags of baby carrots and strawberries and blueberries available. This has helped me a lot. Wish You lots of healthy weight lost and Happiness.🌻🌺

I feel ya! Yesterday was my son's 27th birthday. All he ever wants for his BD is his favorite dish, chicken spaghetti. So I made it for him like I always do. I made a large pot of it. He ate his fill, his wife ate her fill, I ate a 1/2 cup and hubs ate a slightly larger portion (he's dieting with me - he has no choice...he can't cook). Then we gave the leftovers to the kids to take home with THEM rather than keep it in the house.

Happy birthday to your son - and I think that we are here to enjoy life. I know that the high carb foods and sugar really impact me now or at least I am more aware of how they make me feel (physically and emotionally) so it is easier to limit my intake. still - some days you need to eat a b-day donut with your son. I hope you have a great day on your adventure.

Hey, "weight gain by osmosis (or aroma)" may be a real thing! I read somewhere about a complex phenomenon whereby just *thinking* about high-carb goodies can actually cause the body to hold onto its fat, if not increase fat stores. The mechanism: In a state of "insulin resistance" (aka "hyperinsulinemia" - - too much insulin), the excess hormone causes the body to store un-metabolized glucose as *fat* for (heh-heh) "future use." Similarly, the *thought* of a high-carb treat may trigger an anticipatory release of insulin. With no actual glucose to process (yet), the insulin encourages retention, and even an increase, of body fat. The human body is an amazing work of Creation, constantly adapting to stay alive, no matter what! In this case, the natural process has been hijacked!

Yes, I'm with you there. I'm not eating low carb, but my family is super picky, so eating healthy can be a challenge for sure. Sometimes we have to give in a little, as long as it's not an every day thing, you'll be fine. We actually ended up eating fast food Friday night and I realized why I haven't eaten it in a while, I just felt gross. I definitely prefer how I feel when I eat healthy.

Thanks guys! I know unhealthy foods make me feel yucky so why do I want them sometimes?! I’ve been pretty darn good for a long time so that one day won’t hurt too much but I still wish I hadn’t eaten them. Wish I had an instant rewind button so next time I’m tempted I could rewind and remove just how yucky I felt afterwards😁
