Walking
I was using walking as my main exercise and I was doing 3 miles a day every day, but have since switched it up and am now doing some cardio and walking for 1.5 miles a day. I think you should set a goal of how far you want to go by the end of the week and challenge yourself to make it. The next week up the goal some and keep challenging yourself. You got this!!

Steps per day
I have a desk job as well, I input that exercise and then I turn my pedometer on my phone after work when I do my normal walk. I think I will turn it on tomorrow and see how many steps during the day I'm able to get.
