I have been totally off my game since last Thursday when my parents arrived to visit. I was off work Friday and Monday and as a result I skipped both of those workouts. I kept my calories in check but food choices were not the best. I ate fast food twice yesterday! So today, I am back at work and will get back on track with my diet. I gained about 3 pounds since Friday but I think it’s mostly water weight. I hope everyone is doing great! Make it a great week.

Last Friday I went back to a ketogenic diet. I am keeping my carbs below 50g. I lost some fat this week which was the goal. My energy levels are also more steady with the fat burning diet. I'm feeling good! The carbs I ate the previous 3 weeks caused joint pain for me along with spells of tiredness that are not present on the keto diet. The down side to low carb is workout recovery. I am staying sore for 2 days after each workout without the carbs to help with recovery. This is the only down side for me with the keto diet. Overall things are going well and I feel like I am on track.
Today my parents are visiting. We will be playing golf. I look forward to a great day.

I have had a cold this week that started Tuesday night. I am somewhat better today. Yesterday was the worst. I ended up going home sick from work. I got lots of rest so hopefully I’m on the mend. Being sick causes my blood sugar to be higher than normal. I kinda feel like this week has been a wash. I haven’t walked like I wanted to because of sickness and lots of rain every day. I had planned to start a speed rope cardio program this week but just I wasn’t up for it. I plan to start that on Sunday or Monday, depending on how I feel.
Basically I got sick this week and got fat because I did not adjust my diet. I’m not too worried though, I know that some of it is muscle and plan to be back on track, cutting the fat next week.
I did set new personal weight records on several lifts this week so it wasn’t a total fail. I’m excited to see what happens next week! Have a great day everyone.

My high calorie experiment is over for now. My september averages so far are:
Food: 3114kcal
Fat: 205.01g
Protein: 208.72g
Carbs: 118.60g
I started the month at 173lbs. Almost two weeks of eating over 3100 calories added some body fat along with some new muscle mass. I am dropping down to 3000 calories to see how that works for me. Next week I plan to drop the daily walking and add a few days of HIIT. I am not looking forward to it but it's what must be done if I want to reach my goals.
