I am hitting the "reset button." For the first week and half, I wasn't eating enough calories (averaging 700 calories/day). This caused my weight loss to stop and my metabolism to slow. So, this last weekend, I have gone off the diet and eaten around 2000 calories a day in order to "reset" my body and metabolism. I am planning my food out for the week to average 1200 calories/day (the minimum daily intake recommended for a woman). I'm going to try to exercise to keep the calorie deficit as high as before. I'll monitor to see if this works.

Okay, I have been doing really well for 5 days (okay, I cheated last night) and I haven't lost at all! What's the deal? In fact, I've been worrying that my calorie intake is too low- I've only been eating between 700-900 calories per day. At that rate, how could I not have lost weight? Grrr.

I "treated" myself for dinner tonight- because I've been so good for a week and half (I've lost 7--10 lbs, haven't weighed myself yet. I will tomorrow morning) Well, I made myself miserable instead. Ate a burger, fries, and had ice cream. I felt so awful afterwards, not guilty for cheating, but I truly
felt
horrible- like I had a blown-up balloon in my stomach. I wish I could snapshot the way I felt for several hours afterwards, and then next time I "treat" myself, I'll remember not to overdue it. Still, I only ate a little over 2000 calories today- not bad considering I've only been averaging 700 calories a day for the last week and half. I'm not worried about gaining weight, I know I'll still lose. And now I won't be craving that stuff for awhile!
