Well the tracking didn't last long, no big surprise. Weight loss is also slower than expected, but I suppose it shouldn't have been considering last week's July 4th celebration. Anyway, back at it I suppose.

So yay, it's down a bit. I expect I'll lose around 3-4 lbs this week, assuming I don't do much drinking or noshing on July 4th. After that, it will get hard again. Anyway, my goal again is to get on the treadclimber every day for at least 30 minutes. Well today I did 35 minutes! Still, month's just starting so no excuses!

And there it is - weight's climbed back up AGAIN!😒 So here I am again, with another weight loss attempt. Back to tracking, at least for today, plus I'm determined to spend at least 30 minutes every day on my treadclimber. Also hoping to get in weights & pilates twice weekly in the afternoon/evening, and go swim at least once weekly. I meant to do some meal planning for the week but that didn't happen, maybe next week.
In other news, I should finish the swim instructor training TONIGHT, meaning getting re-certified in first aid, CPR & oxygen, then hopefully start teaching some classes soon. Might be August before that happens, though....

Some very exciting news that's not weight-loss related: After working for the YMCA for over 1 1/2 years, I am FINALLY teaching a group fitness class! It's what I wanted to do from the beginning. I am currently teaching Pilates, which I am certified in. I am also working on becoming a YMCA youth swim instructor, hopefully I'll be taking that training Friday & Saturday this week. I'll still be working the front desk, but maybe a little less than I currently am. Hope everybody else gets a chance to follow their dreams!

So last week I was once again in Hawaii - hubby & I are moving there, we're having a house built but it will be several months to finish. Anyway, I got back Sunday & only gained 2 lbs this time, likely due to not drinking any alcohol. Hubby's on Ozempic now for his diabetes & booze just makes him too sick. Before we left my weight fluctuated between 154 & 156, definitely lower than the beginning of the year, but I wanted to lose this vacation weight.
Anyway, I decided to try this new thing, the 30-30-30 plan. It's a Tic Toc thing & probably pretty dumb. You consume 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of getting out of bed, and then do 30 minutes of low intensity steady state (LISS) cardio. I admit I'm skeptical. The protein is supposed to rev up your metabolism (doubtful), plus 30 grams is A LOT of protein! The only way I can do it is with the Premier Protein shakes I've been drinking anyway. Then you're essentially doing fasted cardio, another thing I'm skeptical about. It's supposed to be better for burning fat, we'll see. I'm on Day 4, and today is the first day I didn't need a short nap afterwards, LOL! Of course, I'm also battling a head cold. Well the vacation weight is already gone, so we'll see if this gets me below 154 lbs. If nothing else, I'm getting up and moving alot sooner! Retirement has made me lazy, I can spend 2 hrs in the morning drinking coffee & listening to smooth jazz. Well THAT explains the weight gain! Anyway, hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend!
