Hi all, I figured I am going to put myself out there and try this. At 31 I woke-up and took an accounting of my life. Up until that point I was in a unhappy marriage, drinking, smoking, and pretty much eating everything I wanted to eat. I would exercise on occasion but not the consistent. I was at around 180 pounds at my heaviest.
I decided I needed a change in lifestyle. Fortunately or unfortunately that marriage came to an end and it was a wake-up call for me to get my life in order. At 33 I decided to join the military in a reserve capacity. My first time running I ran 1/8 of a mile and I couldn't make it any further. Since that point I turned into a little bit of a gym rat. My current wife and myself truly enjoy being healthy together. We did Whole30 3 years back and since that point we have been sugar free/gluten free/dairy free. I was lifting heavy to build mass and eating to have enough calories to go along with it.
More recently my body has been retaliating against me. I guess that happens at 38. Starting in 2021 I have decided that I no longer want to build big muscles. I want to concentrate on being healthy, lean and tone. I am focusing on counting calories and adding more cardio into my workout regiment. Goodbye heavyweights hello flexibility and stamina.
