31 December 2014
Hello, everyone!
First of all, thanks for supporting me and commenting on every journal, not just mine! You all have taught me so much since I joined in November 2013. Here are my monthly weight totals for the year of 2014. (Thanks to Tulipgirl for the idea of keeping track of monthly totals.) My November and December weight losses were low, because I reached my goal weight and I'm not really losing weight, just learning how to maintain my weight. :)
January: 1 lb lost - I gained and lost the same five pounds over and over!
February: 9 lbs lost - 5000 steps or 2.5 miles every day! Tip: added fiber!
March: 5.2 lbs lost
April: 6.4 lbs lost
May: 6.2 lbs lost
June: 5.8 lbs lost
July: 5.6 lbs lost
August: 6 lbs lost
September: 5.4 lbs lost
October: 5.8 lbs lost
November: 2 lbs lost (on maintenance, not really losing weight now)
December: 1.6 lbs lost (on maintenance, not really losing weight now)
Total lost since January 1st: 60 lbs! WooHoo!
Let's make 2015 the best year possible. Happy New Year, everyone!

Hello, everyone! Thinking of you and wishing you well. With my dinner and brunch special occasions coming up, I don't know what I will weigh on December 31 or January 1, but unless my Internet goes down I will be here to weigh in. Keep going and we can make 2015 the best year possible. Stay positive!

Hello, everyone! How are we doing? :) Today was such a happy day for me. As most of you know, I had already reached my personal goal weight of 136 lbs at the end of October. Then I had a delicious 3000 calorie meal on Thanksgiving, but my overeating did not hurt me, because I was under my goal weight. My doctor warned me not to go below 130 lbs and I promised him I wouldn't. I have been good and have even been having a 60 calorie "no sugar added" hot cocoa drink mix between lunch and dinner on most days, just to be sure that I keep my calories up there. When I burn too many calories in my walking, I need to add calories into my diet. :) Today I was amazed to weigh in at 130 lbs, the exact weight when I got married. WooHoo! I had my hot cocoa today. It is exciting to say that I have been invited to a restaurant dinner three days from now, and a special brunch on New Year's Eve, so I am not worried about going below 130 lbs. :) Thinking about all of you and wishing everyone a Happy New Year. May 2015 be a great year for all of us!

Hello, everyone! I wish everyone peace, love, joy, all the good things in life. I wanted to tell you have Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Season's Greetings. I hope to be back here soon, but let me say Happy New Year, too! Love to all. Be good to yourself. Take care.
ELSA. English Longitudinal Study of Ageing.
The dynamics of ageing: Evidence from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing 2002-12 (Wave 6). What is it? It's a study of a large representative sample of men and women aged 50 and over living in England. ELSA was designed to understand the dynamics of ageing as people move through their later years and the relationships between demographic factors, economic circumstances, social and psychological factors, health, cognitive function and biology. The study looked at wealth, lifestyle and obesity. You can download the report here:

My Summary: The younger you feel, the longer you live. I am going to think that today is the best day of my life. If you need help, see your doctor and get medication. Then what? If you decide that you are happy, then you are happy. If you decide that you are miserable, then you will live your life like that. So put a smile on your face, stay positive, and do something today that will make this the best day of your life. You can do it. Stay strong!

Hello, everyone! Glad to see you all again. Nothing is new, just living and breathing, but still watching what I eat and still walking every day. I really have given up snacking after dinner except for decaffeinated tea and sugar free gum. We don't have anything special planned this week, so I guess people are busy. My son, who moved out on December 5 is coming over on New Year's Eve. That day may be high calorie for me, but I am looking forward to it. lol
Remember to always be good to yourself. Happy Holidays, whatever your holidays are.
