I'm 72, widowed after 45 years, and have 6 granddaughters. I am of Cherokee and German heritage. I gained my weight (318) gradually after having a full hysterectomy at age 34. I've been in the food business in one way or another for 52 years. Not good work if you want to stay thin. In 1998 I was diagnosed with latent diabetes, complicated with Neuropathy of feet and ankles. In 2002 I fell down a flight of stairs, hurting my left hip, and breaking both feet. I had left hip replacement in 2009, resulting in tendon damage of the calf. In 2014 I had my right knee replaced. It still isn't right. The Neuropathy has now moved to my hands and lower face. It's 2016 and I've almost met my goal. My newest goal is to keep the weight off and keep exercising.
