My highest weight was just over 300lbs. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes shortly thereafter. I'm highly addicted to carbs and even the slightest slip will take years to stop & recover. I found Keto and got my A1C into healthy range.
However, I'm a stress eater. And I stress eat carbs. I have to accept my carb addiction. No more carbs. Throwing out the breads and pastas, getting back on Keto.
