I have been a fatsecret memeber for 6 months as of this day I compose this bio. I have already experienced many ups and downs, all-time lows, and lack of motivation leading to some more dissapointing "highs" again. And this is okay. I have learned something over the years, and that is this: Health, every day, and in every way, is a thousand more times important than to simply "look great" or "be skinny". I will always have flaws in my exterior shell which I will be inclined to critcize. A healthy mind and a healthy body, discipline and hard work, however, will open up a million more opportunities that are much more worth-while in the end. Nothing comes over night, and I am sorry that in this generation, you have been told otherwise. Battle with me, day by day, and let us fall and rise together. I hope the best for your pursuits.

Help ! New pair of running shoes
I would have to second turtledrummer, as I am now a full flegded VFF (Vibram Five Finger) advocate. I suffer from intense shin splints. With the VFFs, no more. Took me about 2-3 weeks to really train my legs, calves, and feet to adjust, but I will never wear another shoe. Foods that burn fat
This is a great post - and in addition to your red meats section, check into 100% grassfed beef as opposed to corn-fed beef... HUGE nutrient differences and less fat per cut... and better for the cow, you and the envrionment!

Best Exercise
fitgymgirl is completely right. Weight Training is so great for losing the weight and building muscle that will in turn burn fat. Something interesting though, when running, keep in mind that after a very short while (around 5 minutes), your body will actually switch the way it will burn calories. Your body will revert to endurance training where it will burn your muscle down creating more lean muscles while keeping your fat as a last resort for energy... Hence why cyclists, runners and most swimmers are so lean (but some of them are still "flabby"Wink. In order to counter-act this, weight training will strengthen and build those muscles which in turn burn more fat. Switch up your routine, keeping your heart rate a little above 125 for cardio, and you'll see fat loss quicker. Make sure to eat a lot of protein for re-building and recovering your muscles. I personally take Muscle Milk light for aid and results are great... Best Wishes! Hang in there!
