Step 3 is so important... FAVORITE foods! So often people will force themselves to eat food they dislike and set themselves up for failure.

Yeah, that's the problem I have with standard diet plans. There are certain things I just WON'T EAT for breakfast!

I concur with the removal of the carbs column, doubling the fat column and watch the overweightness/unhealthy body melt away and transform. i patiently struggled 47 years to figure this out and now i have found my bliss and the path to forever freedom from sugar addiction, and a healthy body and mind.

I wonder how this would work for breastfeeding mothers.

@ Biketolive; Removing the carbs might be necessary for people with certain dietary restrictions or other health or metabolic issues but I believe this is a good general guideline for most people who are just trying to figure out where to start.

I would only remove carbs temporarily for weight loss purposes. Don't grains and other foods containing carbs give us too much nutrition to totally dismiss?

Target finding this weekend; meal splitting may take some adjusting. Plenty of favorite foods. Meal building might be two big two medium. Kind of funny, pumpkin seeds, cashews, and beef jerky all at work. nom nom is going to be fun!

I'm not here to get into a debate whether this meal plan is good or not good for diabetic folks (pre-diabetic included). I was once in both categories. After 3 years of being diabetic and on medication for it, I brought it under control and was fortunate enough to be taken off meds. My A1C has been 5.0 consistently since then. I do watch my carb intake, and my goals are to consume more protein than carbs, but I don't practice keto either. Having a balance with all food groups works best for me. Portion control and at least 90 min of walking per week keeps my A1C in great shape. It proved to me that complex carbs are ok and my belief is that they work hand-in-hand with protein to burn fat. Again, not debating, but all diabetic and re-diabetic folks are not all the same.

Carbs are life. Best energy source, fiber plus all of the nutrients found in fruit. They do not create fat out of thin air, you still need a calorie surplus for that. Thankfully.
