Ahhh, it's weekend, I'm back with a new low, wife's back is a little better, rocked and rolled HARD yesterday, and guests over for dinner tonight. Honestly, does it get any better? :)
I weighed in at 77.2 kgs this morning. I's a tiny loss since last week - 100 grams - but it's a new low nonetheless. I'm perfectly happy with it, now being in maintenance mode and also considering how my choice of pizza really did a number on me. It'll be quite a while before I do that again, that's for sure.
I'd like to say thank you for all your get-well greetings to Wife, and for all your advice. It was a stressful day yesterday, so I was not on here much, but rest assured that it's all be duly noticed and greatly appreciated.
I talked with Wife a little more about you guys, and about the community there is to be found here. She really appreciate you guys, and all you have done for me (and thus, also for her). She asks me to tell you that those of you who has asked to be her buddy will get the requests accepted very soon. Again, she is not very active on here, but she does have the intention to be here a little more - and maybe even journal. We'll see what happens. I just don't want you guys to expect that she's gonna do lengthy daily journals. She'll probably NOT write about weight loss, but about other things that is on her mind. She's a great writer though, I hope she'll do it. I'd love to see what she would write. She's a great gal.
So, yesterday night I was in rehearsal with the band. We got a couple of new songs in place, and had a blast. I really like playing with these guys. I had my calories totally under control and this gave me plenty of wiggle room for the impromptu chocolate cake that was served in our break.
Today, our Brazilian friend is coming to visit along with her kids. It's been quite a while since we've seen them - actually not since Thanksgiving 2010. I'm curious to see how she'll react to "the new me". I've walked right past her a few times, and I honestly don't think she realized who I was. I'd always say hi, but not really stop to chat, and she'd give me this weird look. Maybe she thought I was some kind of creep? LOL.
I got my Xbox kinect games yesterday. One is the Yourshape Fitness Evolved 2012, which is (duh) a fitness game. It should essentially be a lot of exercises to do to get in shape, train muscles, workout, do yoga, and a bunch of other things. I am curious to get going and find things to do in this. It looks like fun, and the geek level is just perfect for me. I like stuff like this. I also have a few other games, and I think it would probably be fun for the kids tonight. I hope I can find something that will be fun for them, without us being there - I think I'd like to simply enjoy an evening of talking with our friend. :)
Kitty cat is not gonna be happy though. She is in NO way child compatible, so she'll have to be in the other end of the apartment tonight. She hates that.
Today, it's INDULGENCE DAY! I'm not sure how much I'll be eating for lunch, as we had a heavy, excellent (and reasonably low cal) breakfast. Normally, we go to this little lunch buffet at a local supermarket. It's dirt cheap, and small, but usually pretty good. However, both Wife and I are pretty much stuffed after breakfast. No need to eat just to eat, right? I'd rather save the calories for some heavy duty snacking throughout the day then. :)
Oh, and of course - let's not forget a little update on Wife's back. The other day we finally found out what happened to her back. She has a (reasonably) mild herniated disc in her lower back. This means that it doesn't require surgery, but then again it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt! Those can be sooooo painful. I've had one, and she has all my compassion on this. I have contacted her doctor and she has an appointment with a physiotherapist this coming week, so we can get going on getting her better. Until then, she's doing doctor recommended stretching, very carefully, and that relieves some of the pain. And of course, also some pain killers. Sadly, Denmark in general don't believe in heavy pain killers. There is no Vicodin to be had here, just milder stuff. It relieves, but it doesn't kill the pain. I wish I could get her something stronger.
Today, I'm thankful for - Wife being significantly better than yesterday. - A great morning omelet. - A new low! - The outlook of a great day with friends and family. - Messing with new video games! - Coffee! Salute to all! - Wife's decision to use this forum a little more. I really hope she does it. :) - All of you guys who are being so awesome, helpful and concerned for Wife and I. I love you guys! You're the best.
Bring it on, Saturday! I'm ready! Life is good!
