LOL! First impression today, as I sit down to write my journal and register my weigh-in:
My butt has now gotten so much smaller that I strain my shoulders reaching for my keyboard. :) One of these days I will have to re-think my little portable laptop office desk thingy. I think this is a good thing, though I kinda dislike the thought of having to sit on a cushion like a 5 year old kid. :)
Actually this made me literally laugh out loud. Who knew that this would be an issue?
So, today is 2nd day after Indulgence Day, and I am again up in weight as expected. Nothing new there. I am today 85 kgs, and I have 8 kgs to go. I really don't like these high weigh-ins, but I know they're part of the game. It's fine, and I survive them. Last week, Monday's weigh-in was past 87 kgs, so I won't whine too much about it. It'll be gone in a few days, and hopefully I will have a new lowest weigh-in by the end of the week.
The cold/flu is 99% gone! I cough a little bit, but nothing worth worrying about. This of course means - especially since it's a Monday and that things seems to start on Mondays - that I am back in my regular activities. This means:
Monday: DVD exercise Journal Bass Practice Work Gym Bass Practice Relax
Tuesday: DVD exercise Journal Bass Practice Work Band Creation with the cool kids! Relax
Wednesday: DVD exercise Journal Bass Practice Work Gym Bass Practice Relax
Thursday: DVD exercise Journal Bass Practice Work (long day, so no gym) Bass Practice Relax
Friday: DVD exercise Journal Bass Practice Work Gym Bass Practice Relax (Except this coming Friday, as I will skip gym to go set up gear for the evening concert we're doing. I'm sure this will be PLENTY of exercise!)
Phew, that's quite a week, now that I look at it. No wonder I feel like I am busy sometimes. :)
So, as you can see I am back doing my morning workout with the DVD. I was a little nervous about doing medium difficulty after not doing any for about a week. I was worried that it'd be too much and have me discouraged. However, I manned it up and did it! It turned out to not be TOO bad, though I could clearly tell a difference from last time I did it. It's okay. It'll be easier as I do it a few more times, and by the end of the week I should be back to normal, I would think.
So, I went and returned my "Rock Star" shirt. I think it was a little too much pink for my liking. Pink doesn't fit me, it doesn't fit my style and it doesn't really fit the music I like to represent. I think what I am coming up with instead is pretty cool. I like it. I'll make sure you will get a picture - I am hoping that we're gonna do some live photos from the concert this Friday too.
It's not a big show or anything, but it will be tons of fun. Two of my band mates are teachers, and the gig is at their school for the teacher's Christmas party. This means that we're already favorites, as they know at least two of us. Also, I have worked with a bunch of them years back, so it will be fun to catch up a little. Also, this gang is known for doing some pretty heavy duty parties, and I am sure we can use that to our advantage! :) It will be a blast. If all goes well there will be an audio recording of the show too. We're still negotiating whether they are okay with video. We'll see.
I'm really looking forward to playing. It's been a few months since last job, and it's SO much fun. Like I said, this is no big show, but who cares, right? We're basically reserving a corner spot, where we will set up. No stage, just on the floor. Still, it's people having fun with our music. That's all that matters.
This weekend was a good one. We had so much fun on Saturday, and really enjoyed being out. I wrote all about that, so I won't get too much into details. All I will say is that I ate all the wrong things, but I calculated them to the best of my abilities, and I ended up doing all right.
Sunday was hard. I always get the munchies BAD on Sundays. I wanna eat, eat, eat! I was actually kinda semi commited to going to the gym, to get away from boredom and munchies, but I ended up opting for a long walk instead. It was awesome winter weather, so I went for a 90 minute walk. Hey, if I had gone to the gym it would essentially have been a 60 minute walk I'd be doing there. Faster pace, sure, but I think the extra 30 minutes will compensate for that. Point is, I did something. Better than nothing, right?
So, if I am to make it through my tight pre-work schedule today, I better stop babbling here. It's time to pick up the world's most awesome bass guitar and get crackin' on the set list. I always look forward to doing this. It's so much fun.
Before I go - I have gotten messages from several of you through the week. So many different topics, but most originating from something I wrote in my journal. I just wanted to thank you all for reading all this - I know it actually demands a little time from you guys to get through the whole thing. I really, really, really appreciate it. I try my best to get to read everything you guys write to. :)
Have an awesome week, buddies! Life is good!
