Had a credit card cancelled. It seems they thought that, living in BC Canada, it was peculiar that I'd bought a $7 bottle of bourbon in South Carolina. Of course it wasn't me! Glen Fiddich, that would be me. Not in SC though.

My credit/debit card was hit with $300+ of bogus charges this weekend. Found out when my card was declined buying a computer monitor ...second time it has happened in 3 months. It's getting scary.

That's maddening. I know how you and Alphamares feel.. Two years ago I got hit with cruise line reservations! I've never taken a cruise in my life. Ever since then, every week, I get the following in the mail: a flyer from that cruise line, opportunies to visit/have lunch at 2 local retirement homes, and hearing aid ads. (I'm a Chivas Regal gal.)

Wait - when you said you drove south, you meant The South! Good grief; why not fly? It's got to be cheaper than all the gasoline, oil changes, wear & tear, and time (time is a commodity, too) you're currently spending. Plus sitting on your tushie all those hours is going to cause flabbiness and squishiness.

Well did you at least get the bourbon??? I'll take a guess here and say you were in Canada and in the south of BC:)

Actually northern BC. Sometimes I wonder if the CC companies do this from time to time to show they are being vigilant. I also do the odd conspiracy theory.

Well, I live in SC and had my card hijacked last week by someone in New Jersey! (And, no, I didn't but any $7 bourbon)!

I've had a CitiCard hacked a couple times with crazy charges, stuff like vacation/resort charges out of country. But they were great about it. Can't make any sense of the cheap booze, if you're going to steal somebody's credit card info and buy booze at least get the good stuff!
