Weight goes up, down and sideways. It is a fact of the human body…that is a FACT, not FAT! Keep on!

I know it is depressing to see the scale go in the wrong direction. Don't fret about it, it isn't permanent. Stay off the scale for a while and don't obsess over it. If you are doing everything right then you have no worries.

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. Sore muscles means your muscles are retaining water to help them heal. This can show on the scale as a temporary gain, no loss or smaller loss than usual. It is temporary and goes away when your muscles get used to the new exercise. It means you are building muscle. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest, the more easy losing and maintaining weight becomes. So just keep going and the scale will eventually catch up.

Thanks you SUZI161, I will look it up. KATHY, I think I will put the scale up for a week.. I've never done that and I wonder how I will cope not seeing what I weigh.. maybe I will try putting the scale away for tomorrow/for the rest of the week! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Keep at it, its gonna work out..someone once told me and I try to remember this, that when I get discouraged looking at my body image to tell myself in the mirror..:"Your days are numbered lady!"

Do you think you ate 10,000 calories over your daily allotment? I don't. Relax.

Absolutely don't worry! Trust me! Keep exercising, that's normal! Initial weight gain is expected because you're also creating muscle and muscle weighs, but muscle also burns calories and so, you will start losing weight. Don't stop exercising!! :) Be patient! :)

It might also not be related, it might be just a fluctuation. There is no way around it, it's calories in VS calories burned. :)

Look at my case, I've been exercising but I also have days like that (today is one of them ;) but, if you look at my trend, you will see exercise really pays off. My weight started going down from almost near my original weight when I restarted exercise. Trust me! Be persistent and patient! ;)

Thanks Euheide! I plan to continue going to the gym. 3 to 4 x a week. Looking forward to no sore muscles. :)

If you're working out, sometimes your weight will go up because you're building muscle and it's heavier. It's happened to me, I gained 6lbs but I'm down a size.
