Old (or new) wives tale Diea; intense cardio can burn both calories and fat, as long as a person doesn't over compensate with "recovery eating"...lol. Also, HIIT can both build muscle and promote EPOC (google Orange Theory). If you have the time and mental energy, resistance training and cardio are a great combo to help with our fat loss and health.

That's the plan, Steven. Is good to hear you saying that is a wives tale. It's also good to hear it after 2 weeks of getting adjusted. lol. I think I needed to take a break from fitness while getting used to fasting.

If I don't exercise (a lot) while fasting I do not feel well. I get lethargic.

I hear that, adefwebserver. 5 days without exercise and I find it hard to go back. I do, sometimes. Other times, I can stay lethargic for weeks.

But it sounds like you exercise with more intensity. Did you get dizzy while you were traveling to fasting? And what kind of fasting do you practice?

Diea - I actually go to Orange Theory Fitness and they include a lot of resistance training in their workouts as well as rowing machines which are a total body building movement. If you do cardio, try sprinting as fast as you can one minute, relax two minutes and then sprint again and do this over and over for 20 minutes. That is the essence of HIIT...but I bet you already know that!

what is too much for you? I do 40 to 1 hour 4 days a week and I was doing 30 minutes weights lifting also 4 days a week but last week I increased it to one hour each day

@Diea - I average 5 days a week fasting. My exercise is mostly running. This allows me to start off slowly and then just keep running for an hour. Or I will lift weight. When I start I always feel "man I am too tired to work out today" and then I am totally fine after 10 minutes.

Hey HCB. I definitely do HIIT. I also do PIIT. Both are fun. :)

Hey keilin-4! Apparently, right now as I am transitioning to intermittent fasting (IF), too much is 45 minutes. I figured out that I just need to spend more time doing cool down. That has helped somewhat.

"When I start I always feel "man I am too tired to work out today" and then I am totally fine after 10 minutes." I sooooo know that feeling. But I am feeling queezy. It's a little different. But it's good to hear all of the motivating words. I'm sure I'll get back to a place where I feel better about exercising and better generally.

That is right, you have to listen your body, as I see you have been doing a great job !

Exactly! It's all about listening to the body and being kind to oneself.
