Good luck to you. The trees sound very nice. I planted a Ray Ruby Grapefruit recently and can't wait to begin harvesting the fruit.

Thanks Thinner, and Jk, I have one avocado that is fruitless, and the one I bought has fruit, so I am thinking of experimenting and planting the new one next to the base of the old one, and cutting the old base, and see if I can get them to blend together.

Thanks, Jimmie! Don't get old, that 45lb weight starts being a bitch to carry.

Maybe the avocado you already have is a male and the one you bought is a female and was fertilized by a male near where it was grown sometimes you have to have both trees. Just a thought.

I know, but I wonder if kind of grafting them together might help. My soil is part of the problem, as it is riverbed rock and desert soil. My other tree is over ten years old, and has had one piece of small fruit the whole time, frustrating. This is a tiny Fuerte with one huge piece of fruit on it. Funny, I grew up with a huge, huge, huge, avocado tree, that had hundreds of fruit. My dad and I watched a dozer take it out when we sold the house to developers. I have never seen a tree like that one again, ever. The trunk was 3 feet wide.

Thanks you two! I buy my avocados for 99 Cents a piece at the 99 Cent Store. They are good, and I am going to eat one RIGHT NOW! lol

Happy Sunday Warren!! Avocados and lemons sound so delicious!! If the avocados grow, so much money saved from the 99cents store! It's funny, my house was built over an avocado orchard, some of the neighborhors were lucky enough to get these massive avocado trees in their backyard (not me however). My next door neighbor keeps promising me avocados- for over a year, but it hasn't happened yet! Lol

Sounds like you better take the initiative, and start scoring brownie points with your neighbor, and tell them how wonderful those luscious avocados look on their tree.

Tofu burrito? show a picture! I still haven't made my Tofu yet! Smarty, wasted avocados is unacceptable. lol You need to make a long stick with a can on the end to grab those when no one is looking.

Hey Smarty, those sponge mops with the lever on the handle that makes them fold in half and squeeze the water out....those are GREAT for picking fruit off of a tree, we use them to harvest the pears off of the very top of the tree where the ladder won't reach and the limbs are too small to climb!
