Thanks Tina, It is funny, and I think I have said this before, that it seems so much you read is contrary to something else you read related to DIET. I am reading this 56 Ways, and many of us skip breakfast. It says have a BIG breakfast. A lady on here says an authority says, you are going to wear that fat from an avocado. This says that fat is good. On and on. Why I believe, you find your own way.

Dietary fat doesn't make people fat. Oh, sure, it sounds logical, but that's not how the body works.

Phil, my brother, you never let me down. You got me on avocados, and I'm staying. I need to go buy some. I have a bit obsessed with nuts lately. I need energy, but feel great today, and off to the gym for tea with my cancer bros. lol

Even in that "Truth About Avocados" forum topic here avocados were declared, "fattening", when asked for clarification, only an evasive answer was provided. Avocados aren't inherently fattening, or bad at an average of 350 calories in a medium sized Hass avocado, they may be, "calorie dense", but certainly not along the lines of a slice of Pecan Pie.

I still believe in the choice of foods related to nutrition, and filling your hunger needs, Phil!

Personal Dietary Relativism is a real thing.

I have only just discovered avocados and am incorporating them in my LCHF way of eating. I found this article while responding to the thread Phil alluded to. I found it interesting.

Avocado is a super food, full of healthy fat and fiber, and tastes great. Anyone knocking avocado is just being a spiteful troll.

Agree with Phil completely. There are very few foods that can equal the amount of nutrients found in avocado. Two of which are Asparagus, and the EGG. Those three items should be part of ANY good food plan.

Glad to hear youre feeling well Warren!! Here's even more contradictory information for you, lol.....I just looked through the slide show you linked to above re "56 Ways To Lose Weight Forever According To Science"...catchy title for sure, but...slide 3 says "finish your breakfast with something sweet"...slide 5 says "avoid sugared beverages"... slide 15 says "watch out for added sugar"...slide 25 says "learn how sugar's disguised"....here I was getting super excited about how eating sugar must be good for us, wink, wink...alas, not to be.

Warren sounds like you're doing better. Phil has me buying avocadoes too. My hubby wants to know who is Phil?! Told him he's an avocado pusher who plants a HUGE garden but can produce spectacular rose blooms and has a beautiful Lilly!

Aww, thanks SjF, hopefully you can get your husband to eating avocados, too. Guacamole is a great way to get him started.

I have something, that Phil doesn't, that I will be posting tomorrow. It is the WONDER FRUIT! Lol Just kidding, Phil. Who knows, maybe you have one too.

I'm not going to simile if it's durian.

That's funny Steven, EXACTLY! I actually posted this before, and I forgot how contrary the entire post is. It's kind of like anything else, you have to take it all with a few grains of salt, (which is bad, but my father loved the stuff) and figure out whatever value you get from it. Yep, I thought SUGAR was made by the DEVIL. It's called clever MARKETING, in my book!
