Nice loss, Erika! I really want to see what this BBB&E challenge will do without adding any other variables, but I will be cheering from the sidelines! 🙂

P.S. I'll only be weighing in weekly for the challenge, so we'll see what week 1 looks like Saturday. 🫰

Looking forward to that weigh in. I watched a Dr. Chaffee video where he described skipping his OMAD some days if he wasn't hungry. I wasn't hungry last night after an big 8:30 AM meaty breakfast, so I went to bed instead of eating. Then by morning the fasting was feeling good, so I figured I'd carry it forward a bit. Just feeling it out, plus I've got that birthday goal. Maybe that's silly, but ya gotta pick your motivated moments.

Learning about autophagy, I do think it's important for me to have some 48-72 hr fasts pretty frequently, as I've got some serious batwings, etc. to tighten up along the way.

Debra, I'm with you on this fast. I'm aiming to break it on Sat. morning, as I've promised to help a friend prep some flaking trim; getting it ready to paint. It's going to be vigorous scraping, so I don't want to be running on empty.

@Erika... There is nothing wrong with the birthday goal at all, and there is nothing silly about it! Autrophagy is wonderful! You go, girl! I may do more EF after the challenge or before if it comes naturally for me. I just want to see the actual results of eating when hungry & until full on carnivore.

That's what I'm aiming for between fasts. I love it that we're doing this together, with variation. By comparing notes, we all learn.

I always get a weight bounce up after fasting, so maybe it would be better just to stick to a steadier path. IDK. Try it and learn, right?!

@Erika... I'm glad to have you with me in this challenge as well! 🙂 We can always compare notes. I do THINK I recall Dr. Chaffee saying something about it may take a bit for the digestive system getting used to and efficient at digesting more meat. 🤔 Do what you feel is best for you. 🤷♀️

IDK, Erika being carnivore at the moment, you might not get as large of a rebound post fast, other than the weight of food in the digestive tract. I have noticed on my shorter fasts that the rebounds are smaller if I keep the carbs low. The times that I have allowed myself to go up to 15% net carbs the rebounds have been higher. I don't know that there is really any correlation between the two, but it is just something I noticed.

I think Deb is right, though. You shouldn't get a big bounce on a carnivore refeed.

Yes, I believe that much of the rebound is water weight in the muscles, if carbs are eaten. I did eat higher carbs after that longer fast - hence a bigger bounce. We'll see and learn after this and I keep it strict. I just took blood test: BG 73, Ketones 2.2 for a Boz ratio of 33. Hazzah! Solid autophagy zone.

(Sigh) I just had to cancel that meter order and reorder it, they said it was some type of issue at the fulfillment center😒

@Erka... That's awesome! I will check mine before eating. There seems to be nothing wrong with my ketone meter, but my BG strips expired in Jan. 2021. So, I'll try to go get more of those before testing.

@Deb... Well, that's a bummer...
