Day 5 of a planned 11 day fast
Woke up today with a massive amount of energy. I literally jumped out of bed. I drank a glass of water and did a full 30 minute weight workout. I wanted to go for a run so bad but I have to get to work :(
I had a really emotional past two days (now resolved). It is good I was in the middle of my fast because yesterday would have been a 3 visits to McDonald's sort of day. With the fast, I just had to feel the feelings. I was able to walk to give myself something to address the stress, but I was not able to eat ANYTHING to address the stress.
The reason I have not lost a pound since last weigh-in was that I gained 6 pounds with massive over eating last week. I literally had the largest meal in my life Sunday night :( This is why I decided to do an 11 day fast, because this weekend I won’t get the 'weekend bump' that I have had for the past 4 weeks. Also last Friday I had an unnatural 4 pound one day drop.

Glad you are past the emotional issues. Looking forward to your next drop which is around the corner.

You are an inspiration, just think of all the healing taking place deep within on your fasting results.

@kaylinrenee - Thank you! Yeah, it is hard to throw 4 days of fasting down the drain because you feel bad (when you know it will EVENTUALLY pass). However, that was only because I 'planned' an 11 day fast. Had I been on my usual 5 day fast I may have given in :(

Nice work, brother. You're motivating me to push my fasting harder. I lifted 100% Fasted yesterday for the first time this cut. (Hit all my lifts.) Extending my current fast from my usual 40:8 to 64:8, so no break until Sunday pre-workout. Let's go! #fastingrulesdietingdrools #mindset #grindtime

@Draglist - 99% of the time I 'succumb' so it was rare for me to actually get past it this time :) Thanks for the support :)

@jimmiepop - I read that it trains the body to burn fat so you don't 'hit a wall' when glucose runs low. Now, I am no where near as serious about lifting as you are, but I was able to lift until my muscles were sore but my energy was so high I wanted to go for a run AFTER the workout. For me this is unheard of. Also, all this is going on at 6:00 in the morning and I have not had any coffee for days. Tomorrow I can workout and run. I plan to push my run from the usual 5 miles to 7 (I may have to walk back home!). #letsgo! #grindtime!

Sounds like the fasting momentum is happening right here, right now. I need to be a part of this.

@chesgreen - Welcome aboard! I HIGHLY recommend this book: "The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended Fasting" - https://amzn.to/2LV5yci (I listened to it on audiobook while walking)
