bri293's Journal, 13 June 2014

Last night after work I went for a run, ended up doing 2 miles and it felt great to get back to running! I had a hard time getting motivated lately since I've been working overtime, plus I had a slight problem where I twisted my knee 2 weeks ago and it would hurt after I would run. Nothing serious, but enough to deter me from running especially because I didn't want to make it worse. My knee feels fine now and I'm ready to step up my running game!

Running never came easy to me, but last summer I started the Couch to 5k and finished the program earlier this year. Never in my life had I run for 30 minutes straight! I took a little hiatus over the past 3 months from running, only doing it occasionally and I need to build back up my endurance. Right now I get to about the 22 minute mark (which for me is 2 miles lately) and just can't keep going. Hoping to work back up to 30 minutes and would love to eventually be able to do 3 miles in that time.

Last night after running I failed a bit because my boyfriend wanted pizza for dinner... I limited myself to 2 pieces but still went over my calories for the day because I had a lunch meeting out with clients and even though I had a salad, it was a more calories than I would normally consume at lunch. However, because I got a run in I feel like it helps balance out and was a nice reward. As long as I don't eat pizza every time I run I think I'll be ok. :)

You're welcome with regard to your kind words over on my journal. I see that you are in your twenties. About my son's age. It may or may not motivate you to let you know that I have "struggled" with my weight since I was your age. Sometimes I think that the easy part is taking it off and the hard part is KEEPING it off. Good luck to you in your weight loss endeavors!

Thank you! I know that if I don't stop it now then in a few years I'm going to be here trying to lose 100 lbs instead of 30! As hard as it seems now, I know it only gets harder from here on out.

You can do it. Sounds as if you are busy "living your life" with work, your boyfriend, workplace lunches, and such. Too bad life gets in the way of our weight loss efforts. Ha! Ha!
