I'm going to start a mini blog in the forum section of my take on how to figure out your numbers. It will be in the regular forums so anyone can comment or ask questions. It seems to me the biggest question people have is how exactly to get started and how to figure out what their intake should be. I think the FS RDI calculator is just a little too simple to work for many people. It works okay for some, but a lot of times people don't even know why they're supposed to hit that number or have any idea how to judge if it's correct or not. I'll do some writing and likely post it tomorrow. Today is already full. :(
I'll start with a quick discussion on a couple of the simple, but often scary abbreviations TDEE and BMR and how to use them to calculate a logical calorie intake.
I'll likely pop in on other people's journals today though. You know how I am.

I think this would be fantastic. I agree that I think the abbreviations and numbers game really freaks people out. With all the information out there AND misinformation people get really nervous around things like fats, carbs forget that these are necessary

I think that's a good idea. The first thing I noticed about this site was that I had to do some serious tweaking to get a reasonable rdi for me, and I've seen other people go through the same. I think your post/mini blog will end up being really useful.

While you're at it .. could you convince FS to add a separate color and breakdown on the pie chart for 'vegetable carbs' vs 'processed grain carbs'. The PGC could be orange. Or brown. For grain. That would make sense. Who's with me?
