😍 That's what my face is imagining the picture of the food!

DP, our host always makes an enormous amount of food, but offers a good array of choices. Anothers guest brought venison in red chile which was excellent! I didn't even log that, but that's okay. I stayed mindful on how much food I needed to be satisfied and I did okay with calories and had a good time. 👍 But I am planning on when it's safe for me to make ice cream again. Next time I am not sharing it. 🐷

home made ice cream recipe?

blighted mother, I made it in my KitchenAid mixer using the ice cream maker attachment. www.makinghomebase.com/classic-homemade-vanilla-ice-cream
The recipe doesn't provide nutritional facts.

Oh my. So how do you record it on your food diary?

I KNEW that about the icecream LOL. Sounds like you had a great day

blighted mother, I just went with a natural ice cream, like Breyer's. I figured close enough and it's not like I am eating it everyday. When I do make it for us , thrn I will look for a recipe that provides nutritional information or use a site where you input your recipe and they give you the nutritional facts breakdown. I think the site is called Sparks People. I think.

Sorry, wrong site. It's verywellfit.com that lets you get nutritional information from your recipe.

Liv, yes it was a very nice evening. I am glad that I didn't make an extra batch of ice cream to keep here at home though. I do have extra vegetables, so that's a good thing. I'm going to try putting off the making of ice cream, until both Joe and I lose a bit more weight. He served himself a double scoop of ice cream last night. I gotta look out for my meal ticket! 🎟 😁😉

ccandco— you don’t need an app for that— you can easily figure nutrition with a pencil and paper.

Kenna, I've done that too. It's not an app, it's a site that has a calculator. I use it for more complicated recipes when I can find nutritional facts on something similar to my homemade recipes.

Diana, also if you eat standing up! 🙃

😂 you guys are funny. @ccandco i will try that app. I need something for my sweet tooth now and again that doesn't bust my RDI.

Blighted mother, ugh! I just lost my comment. Oksy, short version of what I wrote - Use fruit to sweeten, use almond flour or the like for coffee cake, easy dessert mix pudding powder with whipped cream, just enough pudding to flavor the whipped cream. Or simply google low cal desserts. I know you'll find something to satisfy both your sweet tooth and RDI. 😋👍😊

HA! I wish...(regarding the homemade ice cream comment). I personally went through quite a bit during this past year. I put away the maker in the garage. I just can't trust myself around that stuff. It is way too good.

Roxy, it does appear to br a slippery slope. I have been looking up recipes since I got the attachment! Hahaha. 😄 I can't have too much dairy, so I think I will be okay, if not I may have to use your strategy and exile the attachment to the shed. 😒
