FINALLY got below 180! Didn't think it would ever happen. I ate very little Sunday and Monday prior to my appointment with the surgeon. Thought he would tell me I needed to have my gallbladder removed, but he didn't. Talked to me a little about the gallstones and the pain and said to think about it and let him know if I want to have my gallbladder removed. Told me to avoid fatty foods and not to overeat. Said to avoid dairy such as butter and cheese but that low fat or non fat dairy is okay. I think I was the last patient seen before the office closed for the rest of the week. I think I will make an appointment to see my regular doctor, who wasn't available when all this started. See what he thinks and ask if he would have referred me to the surgeon I saw yesterday.
I'm thinking doing the Daniel Fast Challenge starting January 2nd will be a good diet for my gallstones.

Good idea to see your regular doctor to see what he/she recommends. My opinion, for what it's worth: Do you want to live your life waiting for something to happen, due to what you are eating, or do you want to take care of the problem preventatively. If it is inevitable that surgery is in your future to make you feel better, do you want it as an emergency measure... when it isn't planned, rather than a planned event so recovery is planned and easier. Yes, those are my two cents worth. Whatever way you decide, just eat easy... listen to your body... and enjoy the holiday!!

My husband and I are doing the Daniel Fasting. For us, it’s never really been for dietary reasons but a spiritual one. Now we can view in both ways. 😊

Thanks Julie - I was really surprised that the surgeon didn't seem to recommend surgery one way or the other. I would like to see what my doctor has to say about it. 3 very painful "events" in just 2 weeks is not something I want to repeat. Thanks Itsy and Eva. Keyten, I'm looking forward to logging the food during the fast to see how much protein I can realistically expect to get when eating plant sourced foods only. My doctor always tells me I can get enough protein from plants alone. I think after 3 weeks I will be ready for skim milk, tea and maybe juice again. With my gallbladder and cholesterol I think eggs (at least the yolks) need to be avoided for awhile at least. I am also looking forward to the spiritual aspects of the fast. I think there are 7 signed up. You can make comments on the challenge page in case you want to clarify things or make suggestions.

from experience: you can still have "gall bladder" attacks after you no longer have a gall bladder. This is caused by stones forming in the duct between your liver and intestines.

No...I wanted to know but I'm always late to the party on fs. 😆 this app shows me who it wants to, when it wants to. 🤷🏻♀️
