Got together with our church community group for our weekly session last night (by myself). DW was in pretty good spirits last night; I wasn't going to rock the boat by staying too near. She said the granddaughter was actually helpful to her yesterday, so that is a good thing. Overslept. Didn't get up till like 4:15 this morning. Still managed to get on the treadmill - although it meant running a little late for work. I jogged a couple miles to warm up, then did 1/8th mile intervals for a total of 3.5 miles. Got heartrate going at 178, so I was getting a good workout. Yesterday, I bought Hal Higdon's Marathon: the Ultimate Training Guide in Kindle format. I don't have a Kindle, so I use the free Kindle for PC application. The book is an easy and entertaining read; I am finding it rather motivating and informative. Who knows, there may be a marathon in my future. I'm not ruling out the possibility. That means going from training 15 to 20 miles a week to probably 35 to 50 miles a week. Kind of scarey, but hey, I'm not getting any younger. Might have to get up at 2:30 instead of 3:30 on some days, but probably will enjoy a lot more evening runs during the summer and fall seasons. Been pretty true to my 1500 calorie a day limit this week. Finally dropped to under 220 again. Think I'll stay on this austere plan for a couple more days and then go back nearer my RDI, since I am back on track again. Well, that's it for me so far this day, but the day is young. Oh, almost forgot; I signed up for the Caterpillar Employees 5K Power Race on May 19th. That gives me over a month to train for record breaking times. NOT! (But better times). :) Hoping you all have a wonamous day!
