A little behind this morning, but not from sleeping in. Already done a short walk this morning, now, i have a ton of stuff to do, but I wanted to start a new thing with the first weekend of a new month.
Feeling a bit extra fluff this morning and the scale shows it. Going out tonight, and we’ll be walking, so that’s good. I think I’ll probably eat dinner at home to prevent any large scale inhalation of food. I will be drinking and tasting, but i won’t be ravenous. Balance in all things, right?
So many things going on right now. My immediate supervisor decided to retire early and will be gone in a couple of weeks, I’m in the middle of a reorg and while I’ll land, I need to figure out what i want out of this. Joined a Reddit group for people who want to retire early and we’ll just say I’ve got some big goals and some hard work ahead of me to get there. In the meantime, I need to focus on preserving abilities in the body I have and I have been working on retraining/rehabbing my crappy knee and increasing flexibility as well. That’s been fun. I’m finding as I go along that I have to maintain awareness of goals and adapt as we go along. One of the best things about BF being back east is that we’re talking so much, similar to what we did when we first got together. Much more fulfilling than, “Busy, gotta go. Luv ya,” which was happening a lot. Growth, right? BF and i have been talking health, workouts, etc. For the month of December, I’m focusing on improving my knee flexibility and strength as well as improving my hip flexors which get tight when I’m not moving enough. I’m still pretty flexible, but they get tight at night and I have to stretch. I’m probably walking differently because of the three dogs and screwing something up. Backwards treadmill, BOSU balancing and the nightly walks.
Decided that December is another month of fiscal austerity, so we’re going to be doing things that are free or inexpensive for entertainment. I can spend money on others (gifts), but I’m going to be mindful of what i spend on myself. Blah, blah, blah. Shut up and just do it, right? Every dollar I save is going towards one day closer to quitting the grind. That’s the new mindset. Blob is down, everything else is holding or up. Doing percentages at the beginning of the month for tracking. Apple finally made an Apple Health app for the iPad. Saving that rabbit hole for after the sun goes down. It’s currently importing all my data from something like 2017. That’s going to be fun. 🤓
