I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.
During my run yesterday I started thinking back. It was just a little over a year ago that I started on this journey. At that time I could barely walk for 1/2 hour without needing to slow down or stop. Now after losing over 90 lbs I can run for over and hour and a half without stopping. I may be slower than a turtle running through peanut butter but I don't need to stop. What a difference a year makes.
Thursday I decided to take the day off of working out. It was my choice and I felt I needed the rest. Friday I did my time test for my upcoming 5K. I did my run in 29:22 at a pace of 9:35/mile. This means as long as I keep my head in the game I should be able to run my 5K in under 30 minutes. Yay!
Yesterday was my long run for the week. I ran most of it on the road so it was a little difficult for me to set my pace since I didn't know the full route. I ran a total of 105 minutes, 8.29 miles at a 12:42/mile pace. A little slower that I would have liked but I'll take it for a first effort. I did put in some extra hills just for the fun of it.
Today I need to mow the grass and I also work out with the trainer. Should be a blast.
I hope everyone has a great day!
