I like mixing things up a bit and seeing what works the best. I'm still doing a push pull legs split I have come to really like that way of training but figured why not give this change a shot for a month and see how I like it and then still have the last week of February to try for some max PRs before I start the cut. plus I think it's good for your body to switch things up a bit. I think I will probably go back to what I was previously doing when I start the cut since it is more strength focused as I get closer to the tough mudders

This is good stuff! Do you need a wider grip for climbing during the Mudder?

Yes! Your body will thank you! Better on your joins and less likely to get an injury! Way to go Otb123!

I find you and your wife very inspiring. I'm not sure why you and she decided to make this huge transformation but it is very encouraging for us, your fatsecret friends. We see pictures of your children and know what a blessing it is to them to have 2 healthy, fit parents. Awesome.

Nice adjustments. I'm light weight but do slow and controlled movements to feel the contractions and negatives. It feels great.

Going to failure is key... as you said.

Nice! I am sure you will surpass your goals here too. So I train in 3 weeks cycles. 1st week - Heavy weights that I can get 5-7 reps in with 4 sets each. 2nd week Little less weight but able to get 10-12 reps in with 3 sets each. 3rd week even less weight but able to get 15-17 reps in with 2 sets each. Repeat but the weight goes up or reps.

My trainer had me doing pyramid lifting and reverse pyramid lifting today. I like it! You are doing great! It takes tweaking out workouts to get maximum results so good job!👍💪

JustBananas the wider grip makes it really hard to hold on and really stresses the hand and forearm muscles. The one kettlebell I. Was using is 44 pounds and with the fat grip it had an 8 inch circumference at the handle. With my tiny hands I can't get anywhere near a full grip. My forearms and hands are feeling it today after 2 days of doing them between sets

Moves like Jagger thanks its going to take some getting use to but I'm committed to doing at the very least 4 weeks of this style training.

MorticiaAddams 😊 thanks not sure what really got us to make such a drastic change to be honest. But it's definitely turned into a lifestyle change and we are in it for the long haul now. OTC just made herself some new weight lifting goals the other night with some rewards for herself for when she reaches them. People must miss the kid lifting pics I haven't posted one in awhile I know yfritz was just asking me about them as well lol. I will get one soon 👍 they are both still very involved with us working out makes me very happy

TheUnhealthyDaddy I was more moderate weight before shooting for 8 to 12 reps but still doing too mamy Max's for fun mixed in. It's a big change and It's going to take an adjustment period to get the weights right and all my timing right so I can start to be able to track appropriately and Monitor my progress. Tonight will be interesting as it's my first leg day with this style training no clue what weights to put on the bar. I can say this my chest is already sore AF from last nights workout. I did all my bench sets with the cambered bar and I did my OHPs first to pre fatigue my shoulders so I would get more chest activation on my bench sets and Damm did it work
