HEY! Windows 10 will be free!!! That's right! Of course, it prompts the question, just how bad is it and is the backlash from 8 so severe that they're close to out of business. Windows 8 is so bad it's not even up to Dweeb status as far as I'm concerned. #windows8backlash

Windows 8 drove me nuts because of the lack of a start button, so my husband finally found a program that put it back! :-)

I did the same. Classic shell is a free download. It worked for me.

Yeah, they redesigned the start menu so that it has the traditional "programs" list like Windows 7 and a resizeable panel to the right that holds those windows-8-style live tiles. If you're able to, it's definitely worth loading it up in a VM on your computer and giving it a test run. There's a really good feedback program built into the preview build too, so it's pretty easy to voice concerns directly to the developers :)

I'll look for it when I have time. 8 is just beyond horrible. Using half the desktop for the tiles, I could probably live with that, though I have issues to begin with putting in a false distinction between 'program' and 'app'. Just muddy the language more. (Talking Englitch here.)
