I was doing very well today. I wasn't going to have any German Chocolate Cake today. And, then, my husband got a call from the doctor saying the place they removed from his nose came back as being cancer. Thankfully, it's squamous cell, and not melanoma. It is slow-growing, and the Mohs surgery they are going to do on him has more than a 99% success rate. They test the cells as they excise them, and it results in having to remove less non-cancerous tissue. Hopefully, the plastic surgery will not have to entail too much reconstruction! Anyway, after that call, all of a sudden, the cake was calling to me from the refrigerator! My reaction to stress is to EAT! This is also my reaction to joy, sorrow, fear, boredom, etc. PBPWMGINFWMY. Going to have a cup of 5-Cup Salad that my husband can't eat fast enough and call that dinner. Still managing to keep my calories under 1,700 for the day. I'll take that as a win - and I'll try to do better tomorrow.
