Good Evening, FS Warriors! The weather was beautiful this weekend for us here in Central Illinois. Memorial Day is always a surprise, either stinking hot or cold and rainy. This time it was perfect. I actually got a lot done. It was great to be able to run 3 days in the sunlight. Ran 3 miles Saturday, 5.0 on Sunday and 3.15 this morning. Planted four rose bushes for DW, 2 climbers and 2 regular. Planted a new Redbud tree, and I think that's about going to do it for trees around this place. When they are grown, there won't be any room for others. Spent a lot of time rearranging the workshop and mowing. Haven't had any trouble sleeping; I think I'm asleep before my head hits the pillow. Getting ready for work tomorrow and some well deserved rest. LOL! Wishing everyone a great week! Toodles!

I love my trees. I really do, but when cutting the grass, they're another story. Had zero, zip, nada trees when we moved here 20 years go. It's a freakin' forest now on over 2 acres. The dwarf fruit trees are a trip to try and cut under so made up my mind to just cut around the outside perimeter vs risk losing an eye. I'll go back in a couple of weeks and hit the grass with the week whacker.

My house is surrounded by large mature trees. The shade is nice in the summer, but when the leaves drop in the fall it's a bear getting them cleaned up. And then there's the large beech tree that holds leaves until spring. Also have a dwarf and semi-dwarf peach trees, hoping for some fruit this year.

Just found out Nike approved my claim for the defective GPS watch and they are not going to charge me for it. Yay! There is still intelligent life out there.

You are doing great! Do you have any advice for roses that have black spots on them?

wikihow.com hash tag Control-Black-Spot-on-Roses is a good article on preventing and treating them. Not sure if the html link will work though.
