Deborahg382's Journal, 11 April 2014

I've hit a small wall. I've gone back to investigate any changes I've made to my diet. Two fast ago I had sugar free Red Bull (2). And on my last fast I had 1. I have also lowered my calories from 1640 to 1350. One or both of these changes have halted my steady weight loss. Tomorrow is my feast day, I'm upping the calories to 1600 and I will cease the use of Red Bull for five days. I'm stuck on 218-219. I had to remove my ring. Because though it slid right on and fit, its tight all day. So I am retaining water. I bought a diuretic tablet, I also (against Atkins recommendations)purchase Ketone Sticks. To my delight it read almost the ultimate purple on the bottle. So I AM burning fat. I'm a little anxious. I am reminded of the 3 month stall, but I do not think it will take long to get the scale moving again. I HOPE.

You are doing great Deb. It's great that you are in fat burning mode. Hopefully what you are noticing is water weight.

I think you're doing great! It's normal that the weight stays constant in some days and even that it goes up, to go down again. The most important is the weekly trend. :) Anyway, if you start noticing that your progress is really stalling, weekly speaking, you have to start either reducing calories or increasing physical activity (this may be done through very light exercise or light physical activity).

Whatever you do, don't take this too intensely psychologically speaking because, if you do, it will become difficult to cope with the occasional weight increases motivation-wise. Never lose sight of your overall progress :) That's what matters. Small set backs are always temporary as long as you don't give up and know that you're in control. Keep positive!

Euheide, I know when I have feast days that my weight go up and down but NEVER had it ever gone up from fasting, ever. And I was stuck for six days with 2 fasts in there so I was worried. But today I broke that stall and dropped 4 ounces. I was thinking of increasing my calories, but I adjusted them to be 1350ish.. I'll see what happens now. NO MORE RED BULLS for me..that's for sure. Thanks for your posts and encouragement.
