erwinwarrior83's Journal, 24 March 2014

I had a nice weekend with my folks, but BOY is it hard to eat right at their house. I took a lot of the things I normally eat with me, but then there's still her good cooking. I splurged Sunday. It's not reflective on the scale (yet) so I'm increasing the walking this week to counteract all the calories. Mom also has an old elliptical machine that I tried for about 15 minutes, that's a hard machine when you are uncoordinated. So I really settled for walking "M" shaped laps as fast as I could in their basement for about 45 minutes (It's a weird layout) and then booked my hiney to Curves this morning plus 2 miles on the track. Son has a drs appointment to start allergy shots today so I'm off work, and I'm going back to the track tonight, weather permitting. Thankfully Friday is a ways off !!!! Hope everyone has a good day today !!!

I think you may have counteracted the problem. I had to restart counting my points as through exercise I am losing inches, but the scale is not moving. This month has also been hard hormonally, but I am trying. I just feel so hungry as if I am not getting enough points. Any advice? You are so inspiring and seem to be so successful.

How can you resist Mom's home cooking? Good news on the scale. Could be you just got lucky?

I love your determination to get your exercise even when you are busy. Your weight loss shows success!

The walking has become a habit with me, and I really enjoy it. I blast music and go for it :) It's also been hard to stay within the 28 points a day; heck, I've still got at least 26 pounds to lose to get to the top of the goal chart for WW, but I'm already almost at the minimum for the day? What's up with that? For example, today I've already eaten 19 of my daily points, but it's only 832 calories tracked on this site, not near enough to eat to keep from starving my system. So, it's a balancing act to earn more points through activity so I CAN actually eat in the 1300-1500 calorie range. Kathy, I drink water before each meal to help fill me a bit. I do still struggle with the "hungries" late at night though. But the walking helps to curb the hunger too. You can also talk to your WW leader about your concerns on your Points not being enough and if they can offer some sound advice about making the number you have work. I may have to do this myself if I consistently keep going over, not like the weekend where I knew I would, but on a daily basis where if I didn't earn more I'd be in real trouble of gaining again. One day at at time.

Sounds like you've been busy and really getting in some good exercise. I need that motivation to get moving more. Good job!!!!! :)

Done pretty well this evening, went over Points by only 2 but earned 6 so far for the day on the Activity monitor. I stewed 4 pounds of chicken breasts for future meals and only tasted a 1 oz bite after I had my supper. Enjoying a cold bottled water now and doing laundry. Got to get another 500 steps in for my 10000, according to my Fitbit. I think I can do it before bed.

I do not have a WW leader anymore as the last meeting I went too, she said I probably wasn't trying hard enough if I can't lose weight. I do 12-16 points of exercise everyday and am at the 26 points for the day. I am losing inches and people are starting to notice that I am losing weight, but the scale hasn't moved actually it has gone up (new scale). I guess I will just keep doing what I am doing.

sounds like you are building good muscle and burning fat. I'd take those results !!! You are earning 12-16 points a day? WOW. I've never earned more than 10. Is that what your Activity monitor is giving you? If you are paying for WW then you should be able to talk with a Leader and get sound advice on what to do to find where you should be, comfortably, in the weight range their charts predict for your height. (The sooner you can get to Lifetime and maintenance, the sooner you don't have to pay anymore unless you start gaining again.) They can also analyze your food and eating habits and offer sound suggestions, not just "you need to try harder" - I LOVE my Leader, she is SO helpful and encouraging, and the attendance at her meeting times show how good she is.
