Good Morning, FS Warriors! A happy Saturday to you. I had every intention of working out last night, but DW thought it would be good to sit beside her and watch the opening ceremony for the Olympics. Right up until about 9:30, I still had intentions of going downstairs and working out, but the sleep monster got me in a hold and wouldn't let me go. How many of you were impressed with the opening ceremony? How many of you watched it? I must admit I got kind of bored.

Guilt got the best of me when I got up this morning. Cooked two eggs over easy, and had it with one piece of buttered toast. Remember, there's 3 boxes of doughnuts sitting on the kitchen island. And, get this, I went down and did 25 minutes of Jillian's Shred video and 30 minutes on the treadmill. Now I can do my chores, and work on my pens with a clear conscience. I must admit I took a few shortcuts with the workout video, but I kept my heartrate up for the 25 minutes and I'm sure things will come easier each day - after I recover. Just kidding, though I am expecting some soreness to come my way.

Did really well on the eating yesterday, and expect to do the same today. Can't wait to be the lean mean fighting machine I was a couple months ago. OK, well maybe a couple years ago. OK, you got me, a couple decades ago. Now, are you happy? :D That's what sex, drugs and rock and roll will do for you. For you, I said. I don't know what happened to me. Anyway, there's nowhere to go but forward now. I'm in it to win it!

Still no relief in sight for the frigid temps. Well, I guess it does go up in the 20's in a few days. For some of you, that would be pretty good relief. I'm ready for spring. Have to check in with Bren to see how far away that is. Keep on keeping on, you FS Warriors! Toodles!

You always make me laugh. Thanks. We're still cold here too ... and now I have a cold. So unfair!! LOL!!! Those donuts would torture me. Although I did buy DH (who is always looking for something sweet to eat) a cake, which is living in the fridge ... and every time I open the fridge I have to look at it. Hmmm. But, if I just fight off the temptation to taste, even a tiny slice I'll be fine. Weird but that's how it works with me. STAY away from the goodies!!! Which unfortunately includes bread. Oh how I love my bread!! Anyway, keep at it man!!!

Day 1 behind you. How much harder can Day 2 be? Those donuts must be getting old and nasty by now. You can do this!

Love that... wish I could blame all this on sex, drugs & rock-n-roll instead of Pizza Hut - has a much more interesting label. Good on you for passing on donuts, all three boxes.

DW is going to freeze the doughnuts. Don't know if that works, but most of the stuff she puts in the freezer stays there until it has no more half-lives. Did well today on the victuals; one day at a time.

Just think, 1.5 pounds a week for 52 weeks = 78 pounds. Gosh, I hope I don't gain 'that' much. Just kidding. Seems so simple. 78 pounds would put me at what is probably my ideal weight - as far as insurance charts go. More likely, that weight would put me in the hospital. However, 1.5 pounds a week just doesn't sound all that aggressive. Surely it can be done.

I have a feeling the opening ceremony was much more impressive in person instead of seeing bits and pieces. If you like doughnuts congrats for resisting. They aren'very high in nutrition just fat and calories.

I sit here and agree with you. It shouldn't be that hard to lose it. Sometimes, though, it is hard. The truth of the matter is - it is hard to stop eating certain foods we just love.

I agree, Mom. We all have to understand that it is weakness that got us all here in the first place, and we are all going to stumble again. Sometimes, the hardest part is getting back up on the horse. When we gain a few pounds back we're tempted to say, "Well, I've blown it," drop off of here, then finally reach that point of desperation where we swallow our pride, get back on FS and get going again. Can I see a show of hands of those that have been through this cycle? (My hand is being raised.) We just need to skip that step where we say we we've blown it, and skip going on a binge.

Not sure what your eating plan is. Mine is pretty low fat I don't worry about that much as it's olive oil, avocado, flax seed, and a bit of real butter. After awhile of eating foods that are good for you those junk foods may not even taste good. I tried a donut at work awhile back, couldn't eat 1/4 of it the sugars and fats were overwhelming, I tried a potato chip a few weeks ago and all I could taste was salt and the slime of the fat. Yes I could only eat just one.

Very funny, DK. Smart thing to sit by your wife and watch the Olympics. Happy wife, happy life. Good for you, getting in the workouts. You'll be a lean, mean fighting machine again soon.
