What a pretty kitty! I had tuna on the counter the other day, ready to make a tuna sandwich. Went to the computer to log the meal and then saw my kitty, Marco getting ready to jump up on the counter, had to run in to the kitchen to rescue the tuna. My cats always know when there is something tasty on the counter.

Calorie deficit was the biggest factor for me. Eating healthy helped the weight come off faster. I want to thank the cardiologist and orthopedic doctors who were brutally honest about my weight. My feelings were hurt, but they told me the truth. I was damaging my heart and my hips, knees and feet could no longer support my weight. I applaud their honesty.

Marriezzz— I don’t know what program you used to loose your weight but maintenance does not have to be about deprivation, it just requires building healthier (not perfect) habits and being consistent. And, it is important to incorporate physical activity in your life plan.

Hi Kenna. I didn't use any program to lose weight. I just ate a balanced diet concentrating on protein and fiber and counted every calorie with a goal of 1200 to 1500 calories per day. I did not deprive myself of anything including wine and cocktails but did count every calorie. Deprivation led to binge eating and obesity in the past. I eat a normal diet, but do not count every calorie anymore. My main exercise was walking during my weight loss and I'm still walking now. Being obese for my whole life and thin for just a short time is an adjustment. Old habits die hard and I need to be careful. It's hard to describe...

Mariezzz— you have done well. It is hard for some people to understand that even though the diet is OVER and the goal is achieved that the perseverance continues. So important to have a WOE that can easily and comfortably follow you into the future.
