A pretty good day all-in-all. The weather was great, sunny, up around 50 with a slight breeze. Not bad for the middle of January. It's the first Saturday in two or three months that I have not been down - either with the leg infection or the flu. Took two of the motorcycles out today to blow out the cobwebs - not at the same time of course! Really felt good to get out and get some things done. Put the Christmas decorations away, did some organizing and cleaning where I'd taken the old steam boiler out, moved some things around out in the gym (which is now just a big honkin garage), and just enjoyed speculating about all the neat things I'm going to do when Spring rolls around. DW and I are already talking about taking some motorcycle rides. I'll have more time to play if I finish building the kitchen cabinets, get all the schoolhouse lights taken down, and the new ones put up, and get the painting done. I'll earn a lot of points if I get the kitchen done.
We went out last night to the grand opening of a new restaurant. We knew the couple that owned it - they used to run the Sirloin Stockade in town. Food was superb! I had a 12 oz sirloin steak, baked potato and tossed salad. DW had the same. Yes, it was a pretty big meal - but no deserts, and no snacking afterwards. We hadn't gone out for quite a while, and we figured we deserved it. Of course, the steak was way too big for DW, so I took the leftovers home for supper today. Cut the leftover sirloin up into some thin strips, heated them up, along with a couple tortillas, added a little lettuce and cheese, and I had a great dinner. DW made sausage, egg and grits for breakfast, so we skipped lunch. She had some leftover chop suey for supper. We didn't feel like preparing anything big and it worked out well. So far, haven't indulged in any in-between snacks this week - which is really unusual for me. I've just been telling myself, "Don't eat unless you're hungry, and if you feel like you're hungry, ask yourself if you're really hungry." :D It's actually working so far. I just need to get back into the exercising now.
Saturday mornings are about the only time I eat anything other than oatmeal or a half-grapefruit, so I figure that's not all that excessive. Tomorrow we'll go to church, browse the Goodwill store afterwards, and she'll fry up a couple pork tenderloins when we get home. We rarely eat both lunch and supper on a Sunday. As long as I can keep from snacking, I can beat this thing.
Well, enough late night rambling. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Toodles!
