I feel your pain Jenjaba I’m following perfect Keto macros and my job is very physical so I log at least 15k steps and burn about 3000 cals in my 8 hour work shift and I STILL barely lose any weight. Beyond frustrating!! But I’m not going to give up either. I hope the doc can give you some answers

Crashtestdawnie yup! I'm so glad I got the blood work done. First time in my life ive finally gotten a real thyroid vitamin and cortisol workup and found a doctor who knows what he's doing. I encourage anyone who is truly flowing keto , weighing everything and not losing to figure out why! Keep pushing!

You are doing everything right so I am sure you will get there. Are you feeling any better on Keto? I keep telling myself that this has to become WOE because of the health benefits. Also, getting a Dr. to do the tests YOU want is priceless!! I asked mine to check my hormone levels and she acted like I was a crazy person for even asking. "Of course they are off, you had a hysterectomy." LOL Hang in there!! xo

I started this journey a year ago with the intention of just eating healthy. I never expected to lose much weight because I've been nearly 300 lbs for over 25 years, and I think even my doctor had accepted the fact that I had given up losing weight. My only intention was to get my glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure out of the danger zones by reducing my refined carbs, sodium, and saturated fat intake. The weight loss (95 lbs as of this morning) has been a shocking side effect.

years of bad habits does not define you. The changes you make will.

conicassity, congratulations! I've done Keto before with no loss. BUT it got my blood pressure down to normal and now I don't need those meds! I'm finally figuring out why I've struggled, with bad thyroid, hormones off the charts, etc. I don't know if anyone can lose without starving. Your doing great, HEALTH FIRST!

@Kimberlyfielding no, I'm not feeling better on keto but I'm not feeling worse and my BP IS FINALLY NORMAL NO MEDS! There is a chance I have lupus but all my labs now also show other things, so I'll fix one thing at a time. Heck, I had NO progesterone lol. He said I very much needed that you sleep and think. I know This is the way for the rest of my life. As for doctors, there is no sense talking your doc into labs because they don't know what to do with them. I had one doctor tell me to take Vit D, when my labs got to 30 she said I could quit taking. What an idiot. I did a tele visit with my new doc and he helped me order the best labs, I'm driving 5 hours to see him, after that he can prescribe via tele visit. That visit was only $60 for 10 minutes. 🎉🌟

Yes you can totally loose wt. without starving. It is called a lifestyle change and it requires discipline just like any other wt. loss plan. Don’t wait for “elliptical”, get out and walk if you don’t already. I’m happy to see you are starting out by getting a physical and getting some baseline on thyroid, etc. I’m rooting for you.

Jenjaba what kind of doctor are you seeing now? Is it a regular general practitioner?

You will absolutely lose weight on low carb.

You can absolutely not lose weight on low-carb if you have medical issues FYI! It doesn't matter whether you low-carb or not if you have medical issues you can very well be gaining.
