Yesterday was a good day. Calories were higher than I would like, at 2,067, but I managed to get in 101.42 grams of Protein and 45.1 grams of Fiber. I drank 9 cups of water, walked 5 miles, and did all of my pre-surgery Physical Therapy exercises (which takes about 1-1/2 hours). I also went shopping at three grocery stores to get sale items, and took three bags of food to my daughter, who is out of food and doesn't get her SNAP benefits renewed until 7/7.
Today, I am making Lasagna (to take some to my mother-in-law, who had a mild stroke 9 days ago), making spaghetti for my daughter's family, taking a bunch of food I have here and picking up a few more things at the store to try to get her through until she can go grocery shopping again. Hopefully, when she moves into our basement, that her SNAP benefits will last through the whole month, since she won't be feeding my grandson's father, too!
Surgery is 23 days away. I have my pre-surgery consult with the surgeon next Monday. At that time, he will take x-rays of my OTHER knee to see if that replacement is functioning as it should be. I don't think it is. It doesn't hurt as badly as my right knee does, but it gives out in certain positions, and I cannot walk up or down stairs like a normal person with it. If he recommends a new replacement for that knee, I will have to find out if it's advisable to have them both done at the same time, or to stagger the surgeries to allow one to heal before the other is operated on. (If anyone has had a double knee replacement done at the same time, please let me know whether you would advise it.)
OK, lots to do. Slept in until 3:30 this morning, but I've only done 1 mile of walking so far (and it's after 5:30).
