Well, it' been a rough two weeks, but it all worked out in the end. Last week, I didn't lose anything. This week started out with a gain, then a slight loss, which stayed the same for three days, then another slight loss for two more days. Very slow going. But, this morning my weight was down to 231.6 (a two-pound loss for the week). I'm very happy with those results. I started the week with high-calorie days in the 1,600's and even 1,700's. But, then I decided to TRY to eliminate my evening toast/butter (285 calories) and was able to keep my calories much lower. The result was that, of the 16 weeks I've been dieting, this week had the lowest daily calorie average of any of them - 1,441/day. That's almost 100 calories less than my previous low! When I make it through tonight, it will be 7 days that I've gone without the toast. I'm thinking that I'll be able to continue on this route and continue to make good progress weight-wise.
Yes, I am proud of this week's accomplishments, but I give glory to God because I know I couldn't have done it without His intervention. In my own strength, I have NO motivation and ZERO determination when it comes to dieting.
So, my total lost now is 27 pounds! In the past three weeks, I've lost 4 pounds (-2, -0, -2) and at 231.6, I'm only 5.7 pounds away from my second goal of 225.9. Once I get there, my next goal will be 199.9!
This week's lunch menu is: today Beef Stew; Tuesday 1/2 order of Cracker Barrel Pecan Pancakes and two slices of bacon; Wednesday lasagna; Thursday, Friday and Saturday Chinese Casserole; Sunday Roast Beef with Mushrooms, Onions and a little bit of mashed potatoes with gravy.
My husband are just getting ONE order of Mama's Pancake Breakfast (with pecans added to the pancakes) on Tuesday, and we are going to share it. He'll eat half of the pancakes along with the bacon and two eggs. I'll just have 1-1/2 pancakes with half regular syrup and half sugar-free syrup, and I'll make myself two slices of crispy bacon. With this plan, I don't "have to" eat pancakes two days in a row. One order of three pecan pancakes is 1,050 calories, not counting the syrup!!!
Wore another top to church yesterday that had been tight in the arms, but it isn't now. Otherwise, I haven't really noticed any difference with my 27-pound loss. At my weight, you can lose 50 pounds before you have to change sizes. Thankfully, I hung on to the new clothes I bought when I got down to 175 a couple of years ago. Problem is that they are winter clothes, and I won't be down that low again, probably until the spring. Oh well, there's always next year I can wear them! TRYING to be in this for the long haul. I've been "on a diet" or "off the rails" since I was 22 (46 years)!!! I'm tired of yo-yo-ing!
Hope everyone gets off to a great start this week. But, even if you don't, you can turn it around and still make it a great week like I did last week. Before, I was of a mentality that said on Monday, "Oh well, I blew it today, so I might as well eat anything I want to for the rest of the week!" Now, I'm trying to take it one day at a time and not let "yesterday" sabotage my tomorrow.
