I'm not sure why weight loss is so difficult for me. I've not always been sedentary, but I have osteoarthritis, with degenerative joint disease. I take meds for hypothyroid, chronic blood clots, asthma, and I've even had gastric bypass bariatric surgery. I am losing my hair when I diet, and it is frustrating. I have a wonderful husband, married 44 years. We have 4 great kids and 7 grand-children. My husband and I both worked at the old Brushy Mountain Maximum Security Penitentiary in Petros, Tn. My husband was a teacher there, and I was a nurse in the BMSP clinic. We are now retired and my husband is a professor for an on-line University. I run a non-profit tutoring service for local children who need the extra help understanding their homework. There is no charge to the children and our tutors are all older school kids or adults who tutor for free. Keeps us busy. The picture below is of 3 of our children, my husband and me. Our other son, my baby lives in Japan.

legs so cold, legging question
Look at those statistics. Wow! I'm so jealous. I'm bet you are so full of yourself now, aren't you? Smile I would be. I used to say "God knew better than to let me get skinny again, because I might run around naked." I doubt I would go that far, but it would be great to have a sizeable loss like you've had.

I saw pjs with feet in for adult ladies at Walmart. Ever tried them? One of my daughters loves them. One of my granddaughters was diagnosed with Raynaud's Phenomenon, which makes your feet and hands turn blue and get very cooold. Is it possible you may have it? Have you mentioned it to your doctor? Sorry, It's theRolling Eyes retired nurse in me.

New to Fatsecret, I'm going to need help
I had the Roux-en-y done with open abdomen as opposed to laproscopic surgery. I was told my mesentary was so fibrous they couldn't poke holes in it. I healed quickly and well. But after a year, there were no more checkups... I imagine the closest place I could find for counseling would be Knoxville, 50 miles away. What type of help could I hope for? My GP/MD doesn't seem aware of any.

WLSCoach, I wish I could go back to my bariatric surgeon. Last time I called, several years ago... I was told he no longer did that "stuff". I think my group was a test group for East Tn. I was told, "What did you expect? You got your health back." I weighed 314 when I when in that day and lost 75 lb. I weighed 239 the last time I saw the dr. Since then I was turned down for some weigh-loss group because I had the surgery. My gp md says I probably wouldn't qualify for any other kind, but he wishes I did because I'd be perfect for it.Rolling Eyes if you have any info that would help me, bring it on. Like I said... I need help.

Yeah, I'm sure God is busy. Especially since my mother is up there now. She's probably got Him and St Peter and all the Angels scrubbing clouds. And Tyler, son of my ex-daughter-in-law... who is more like a daughter to me and is the mother of my Asperger's grand-daughter, is probably demanding that God put him in charge of snow. Tyler was 9 when her died of a brainstem cancer. As a nurse, I helped his mother with his hospice care and the day he died, it began snowing and snowed every day for 2 weeks. But God probably needs to be distracted from all that. These are the things I think of when I get ready to ask for his Help.
