gaining 0.4 lb a week
30 April 2016
An unexpected drop but I'll take it. Getting closer to my goal of 200 lbs. I never thought I'd get this close when I set my goal 2 years ago. Almost 112 lbs banished from my body. That's over 1/3 of my starting weight.
Have a great weekend everybody!

losing 2.5 lb a week

This is for all of the people that get upset at not losing weight on a daily basis.
First off, if it bothers you significantly then don't weigh yourself every day or multiple times a day. Drop it to once a week or every two weeks. There isn't any reason to cause yourself any extra stress while trying to lose weight. Trust the process.
Second, weight loss is not linear. The typical pattern is a drop followed by a gain or holding steady. This will typically last several days before the next drop from the previous low. In my case. I hit my most recent low on Tuesday, 209.4 lbs. Yesterday my weight was 211 lbs. Also yesterday I did a low cal day eating less than 1400 cals, had almost 2 hrs of low intensity movement mowing the yard and you know where my weight was this morning? Yep, 211 lbs. I don't expect any drop for another 3-5 days. It's just a cycle that I know very well now after dieting for almost 2 yrs.
Third, I hate shows like The Biggest Loser as they set unrealistic expectation for weight loss. Typical weight loss is only 1-2 lbs/week. This is considered a safe goal. You can lose faster by creating a larger deficit but there are repercussions to your body if it is done for any prolonged period of time.
So, if you see a minor gain or no loss for a couple of days just relax. If you're in a calorie deficit just trust the process. You will drop weight.
Have a great day everybody, it's Friday eve!

Still meeting my target of 1/2 lb down per week. Slow and steady. Trying to make sure my metabolism doesn't drop so I can restore my hormones after almost 2 years of dieting.
