I've been interesting in taking one of these DEXA tests. I've researched them and have found some testing locations at about $85 per a test. Is this what you've found? I'd love to hear more about it from someone that has actually had the test taken.

It's just like having an x-ray done. Painless It shows you bone density and as well as very accurate on fat and muscle. Fat, muscle, and bone all have a different density so that is how it can show it with accuracy. Because I am working to lose fat and gain muscle I only use this as my testing. It will tell me my total weight at the same time. Scale weight doesn't show you true body composition changes. Last time I did my test I had lost almost 8 lbs of fat and gained 6.5 lbs of muscle so the scale had only moved about 1.4 lbs but I was excited because the changes in my body composition were what I was seeking! Fortunately it is getting easier to get these test at an affordable price. I am not allowed to get it done more than every 6 weeks because there is radiation similir to an x-ray.

I'm having a hard time finding a near by location. The only one I've found requires me to pay for TWO at once, which is not something I'm interested in doing and is $250 total. I've seen some $85 locations online but they're 3 hours away! D:
