Official mid-week weigh-in tomorrow. Hoping I show a loss. I'm having trouble with breakfasts. I need a high protein start to my day. I find I need about 20g of protein to make it until the next meal without hunger and obsessing about food. Fage Greek Yogurt 2% has been the best option for protein, but I don't really like yogurt. I add Truvia to make it more palatable, but I don't know if I can continue with yogurt forever. Since this is a lifestyle change I'd like to come up with options I like. I'm debating about adding a protein shake or bar to my breakfast, but I don't remember ever trying one that tasted good. I decided to look on Amazon for protein powders ~ but ALL of them get 4-5 stars...I've tried enough over the years to know they don't ALL taste good...The search goes on...

Try muscle milk. It is not as low in calories or fat as a lot of the other brands, but it has 25 grams of protein per serving and tastes pretty good.

Thanks JW. I think I will try Muscle Milk. Do you mix yours with water or milk? And which flavor is your favorite?

I stopped at Walgreen's today and picked up a couple of options. They had single serving packets of Muscle Milk so I bought two flavors to try out. I also bought a few varieties of protein bars. I don't remember which brand I tried today, but it was a chocolate peanut butter flavor...and it was bleccchht!! I even tried to share my "candy bar" with my grandkids and they thought I was trying to sneak some kind of vitamins into them. Lol! I'll try others.

I like mixing whey vanilla powder with greek yogurt and fruit. it's less like yogurt, more like a smoothie and feels more like real food than just powder and water.

Try putting Virgin Coconut Oil in your coffee/tea. It will keep the hunger away until your next meal.

How about eggs? Fried or hard boiled/poached. Great source of protein and healthy. Simple but true.

How much of the ingredients in those shake powders are real food? The ones I've looked at look like lots of chemicals. When I was on Atkins I usually had a spinach and cheese omelet for breakfast.
