Don't know what to think. My endocrinologist wants me to get "off" of Atkins and she may be right :(. Over the last year I have been bouncing up and down but slowly creeping back up in weight. Now that I have added whole grains back to my diet I have been seeing a slight decline again. All I can do is wonder how long will it last this time?

sorry hon, if "going vegan" works for you great! As for me, although I love salads once in a while and veggies with every meal, I'm just too much of a carnivore for it to ever work for me.

Hi, what reason did she give you for stopping Atkins?

What was her logic behind it the suggestion. My doctor is onboard with my Keto lifestyle

My question also, WHY?

I'm just reading a very inspiring book, called the Rosedale Diet. It's written by a Doc who specializes in curing diabetes and helping people restore their health, and along the way lose weight. If I were diabetic, I'd be jumping on that bandwagon. His stats are so impressive. Check it out?

@ Erika - Remember the groups fat fast recently? After two days I started a menstrual cycle and needed to research the fat/hormone connection. Two days later I came across a quote from Rosedale explaining the hormone leptin and its possible effect in restoring the FSH & LH signal - resulting in menstrual periods resuming even in post menopausal women. My naturopath assured me it would be temporary. Threw me for a crazy little loop but I guess I'm going to live :)

Yes, his book focuses on Leptin. There's a lot to learn there. I may have to read it twice! He recommends a lot of supplements, too. Definitely, a deep dive.
