FatGirlJenny's Journal, 09 February 2016

One thing I've learned along this journey is to listen to your body's whispers, and mine is screaming to bask in the sun! I know the dangers of tanning beds, but I'm thinking "how harmful can 1 five minute session be?".

I'm also feeling like I need a "me day". With that being said, I'm off to get a new hair do & my eyebrows done. Remember to pamper yourselves from time to time. If you don't, who will??

Hope you all have a beautiful day!

It's amazing to me that until we started changing and "improving" our food with genetic modifications, people would stay out working in the fields all day long all summer, and they NEVER got cancer from it. Grounding sounds like what you need. Just find your place, connect with earth and sun and enjoy the life giving force and energy it can give you.

Use the lowest strength one, not yhe ultra boxes. I used to go during the long freezing german winters, not to tan but to get warm through and through :)

tanning beds are a controlled amount of time .. going to the beach all day is much more harmful ... and sunscreen is unregulated and contains many cancer causing ingredients. so ya so long as tanning beds aren't abused and you aren't doing it to get a super dark tan?.. you're good.. there are health benifits. it's just like everything else. .too much of anything is bad. so don't feel guilty for your 5 mins in the (fake) sun lol

They help with S.A.D. acne, joint pain, and a whole wack of things . I forget, I'd have to ask my sister.

Read the articles about getting enough sun/sunscreen/tanning by Mark Sisson. He really gives good insight on the whole thing. Getting sun isnt bad, you just have to regulate it depending on your skin type. Eat salmon, berries and other healthy foods, which help protect you from harmful sun damage as well. Eating a healthy diet will also protect you from sun burn. But its all about your individual skin. I can handle the sun in increments. I end up keeping a nice little tan all summer without burning or using sunscreen

Well without proper vitamin d it kills your bones, mood, skin right? we are made to be in the sun... our skin tones show how much sun we need... I am of Irish decent so my skin doesn't filter very much so I only need a little sun to get the proper amount.... yet my husband is black/native and white ...he needs to be in the sun much longer than me. lol you normally see us where he is sitting in the direct sunlight and I'm next to him but in the shade LOL !!!! so sun or tanning bed... we still need the light. if it was bad for us we would be nocturnal.

tanning bed or sun it don't matter. you still get light so its still good for you. its really about papering your self when you need it.

I just went yesterday!! Yes!!!! Pamper yourself! This journey is about YOU! I take two mins to dry brush before showering then after I lotion up and it just takes mins to pamper but boy does it make me feel good!! I put a full length mirror on the back of the door (no it's not in front of the toilet!) I use to hate my body but now I love to look at all my hard work! I look at my cuts I'm getting from work outs and it is motivation for continuing!! For me anyway😊

Funny thing about the mirror...I was just telling my husband we need one. I never wanted to look in a full length mirror before. Right now I have to use the mirror in the curio cabinet but with all the stuff in it and shelves I can't get the full "uncut" version, lol

@RCKC I want a full length mirror also. I'm tired of having to stand on the rim of the tub to see my full reflection.

Oh Scalewatcher3, I have a pic in my head of you all dressed up standing on the tub trying to see....lol!

Careful, don't fall in!

@Rckc Ha, I do it often, but always barefoot, no heels!

@Jmb Thanks, I'm careful, but I really do need to buy one of those over the door full length mirrors for the inside of my closet door. I never think about it while I'm out and about.
