Well folks I don't usually do 2 journals in a day but it seems to be my day for finding my mistakes. I need help from anyone who can give me a recipe for a shake made with Whey Powder that's ok to use on Atkins Induction. It seem the Atkins Shakes aren't good to use for it and I'm trying to do away with AS.

I'd like to have a shake at dinner and have the heavier stuff earlier in the day.

As I said its my day for learning, I have worked on my house keeping for several hours and decided it was lunch time but since I was so tired I was going to grab an Atkins meal and for some reason I noticed it wasn't on Induction then I looked at the others I keep on hand weren't either. I'm beginning to wonder if I've ever really been on Induction so I guess I'm starting over. But at least I caught it now.

It is hard to find lighter evening stuff when greens are off limits but I have to be very careful with them. I'm beginning to feel like a chicken I'm using so many eggs. All comments and help would be very welcome.

Lot's of people use the shakes and bars and don't have problems losing. But some do, so do what is best for you.

It's been ages since I've done Atkins to the letter, but I believe all you would need to do is find a shake that has as low of carbs as possible. I've got some protein shakes at home that have about 2 carbs/serving, and that was too many so I stopped. I did some research and found a zero-carb shake on Amazon, forgot which one but they are out there. I don't know if Atkins is restrictive beyond just carbs & cals/day; does it have ingredient restrictions?

I think it's the carb count but for Induction some of the products are off limits and I'm not sure why. Most people say the AS in their bars slows down weight loss but I don't think it's used in the shakes. There only 2 carbs and I always have enough carbs left for them if I plan right so I'm going to have to think about it.

the shakes and bars both kill me ! I have to stay away from all artificial sugars :(

I prefer Jay Robb Egg White protein powder sweetened with stevia. Vanilla is my preferred flavor and only 2 net carbs per serving. It is a little pricey, but unlike whey that stalls me, this protein drink does not. Also it has 24g protein per serving, which keeps me full.

I use the shakes and bars all the time when i ef up bc when I get back on track my cravings can be hard. BUT if I use them too much, I stall also. So I've learned a shake it def better than cheating but if I do a shake I don't do a bar and vice versa.. so only one product per day and i TRY , the key word here is try not to do them consecutively so one day yes one day no. If you switch to whey, which I love, you can use almond milk but that I know for a fact stalls me bad. I tried the whey with water and was horrible. Maybe cocowater might work. I think everyone responds differently so you will have to try it to find out but if your on induction, you may wanna wait and stick the Atkins stuff.. Let me know how it goes bc Im curious to try whey again too...Great question!

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll get back with you when I decide what to do. I'm not so sure I want to use the Whey since I checked the carb count, it's 6 per scoop and that's a lot Redgirl did you know they make a not sweetened coconut milk not the canned stuff but like the almond milk?
