just found out the person that annoys me the most at work got the promotion i wanted, Why am I posting here? Bc bad news is always an excuse for me to cheat and head over to dairy queen for a blizzard.. BUT, like any addict, Im going to work my program and not use this as an excuse to binge. Im better than that. I am strong, beautiful, outgoing and have a wonderful family. I dont need DQ.I need a awesome low carb lunch, a long work out and a redbox tonite....No time to feel sorry for myself. Just needed to vent..

You can stay focused on your goal and keep away from that which you don't need. I'm sorry about the promotion hopefully something better will come your way soon.

Good plan! The worst person for the job often gets promoted because they suck up to the boss, be your own person!

DQ has great burgers. Just hold the bun. That's what I order when I find that my feet betrayed me and forced me to enter DQ. ;)

Your not an addict...you are an overcomer. I have a feeling that there is something that you are being spared from in that job. It may not seem to be as good as it might appear to be and there may be something better around the corner that you would have not even noticed if you were in that position at work. Stay focused on your goals and how great life is because you are given the choice to be good to yourself. That person may actually even be jealous of you in some ways you may not even know about. Do good...feel good. That is my motto. Smile and congratulate them and go about your business.... if you let it bother you then they have won even more than the promotion and it isn't worth it. You have good things coming your way as well... especially if you stick to your goal and reap the results someday soon!! Hang in there!

I'm hoping for you that means you will interact with that person less.

Great attitude Redgirl! Sorry about not getting the promotion. Try to remember, though, there is usually a reason - you just may not know it for a bit. Stay strong.

You're already promoted--you have a promotion within yourself. Keep up the good work :)

This is a hard situation to navigate. Be strong enough to let it go & don't let it linger. It was once said that, disappointment to a noble soul is what cold water is to burning metal. It strengthens, tempers, & intensifies, but never destroys it. Be that person; especially if your boss is aware of you wanting the position. Let them see it made you stronger, more vigilant. It might not make them question if they selected the right person, but it will solidify you for when promotion considerations come up again. Let it be known that you can take a punch & keep on coming. Whether it's weight loss or a job promotion, true grit will get you there.

Hopefully this promotion will put them out of your way during the day and you can have a more relaxed working atmosphere where you can concentrate on your self and not have to deal with them anymore...:)

Awesome way to redirect that frustration. I am like you one to always jump to food when hit with stress and anxiety.
