My weight can fluctuate as much as 4 lbs from day to day, so starting now, I'm only weighing in on Mondays.
After 3 weeks on Atkins, and leaning heavily on their processed crap, I decided to take the plunge and commit to clean LCHF/IF.
I think because I had already cut carbs, I didn't get the dreaded "Keto Flu", and it was an easy transition.
I've noticed some interesting changes in the last couple of weeks: my tastes have changed dramatically as has my *sense* of taste. Sweet things are almost too sweet, salty things are too salty, and I've had to cut way back on using herbs and spices, because they are too intense in the quantities I'm used to using.
Appetite has almost disappeared. As a lifelong foodie, that's a little disconcerting, I have to say! Maybe it was addiction masked as pleasure? At any rate, I now find it difficult to consume up to 20 grams of carbs a day. My caloric intake most days is half (or less) of recommended.
And yet...after 7 weeks of restricting carbs, and staying in the 80-15-5 zone...only 12 pounds gone. Hmmmm. Persevering, because the other benefits I notice are worth it.
The aches and pains I thought were part of turning 60 are all but gone. Sleep is longer and more refreshing. Mental clarity is so much better, and energy levels are so much higher. No more swollen feet and ankles. Now I need to get my strength back.
188.0 lb Lost so far: 12.0 lb.    Still to go: 38.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
